Autumn update

Hello there!

I just wanted to give you all a quick update! My lovely sister gave me a nephew on October 3rd! I had to immediately put down everything and go meet him! He is the most wonderful tiny human being I have ever met. But, because of this vacation, the episode plans I had for October got derailed. My original intention was to do an episode called “Is Bremerton Haunted?!” and fill it with local ghost stories, as told by the folks who lived them. I did find some stories before I went out of town but never made it to actually recording them. I have some stories of my own, but I didn’t want the episode to consist entirely of my own stuff. So, “Is Bremerton Haunted?!” will have to back burner until next fall.

The spooky season is mostly over now but if you’re jonesing for some local scary stories I can recommend two in podcast form. Check out Episode 18 , “Washington’s Mysterious Dwelling - The Walker-Ames House” by “Legends from the Pacific”. There was also an episode from Jim Harold’s Campfire last year where someone told a story about a demon in a house in Port Orchard but I can’t find it at the moment. I think it may have ended up behind a pay wall.

I listen to a lot of spooky shows year round, it’s just my cup of tea, So if you’re looking for more you should check out the following:

Haunted (Panoply)

Meet my Ghost

The Moonlit Road

Radio Rental (Tenderfoot Tv, Cadence13)

Spooked (part of Snap Judgement, WNYC studios)

Lore (Grim and Mild)

Noble Blood (Grim and Mild)

Astonishing Legends (Scott Philbrook & Forrest Burgess)

Endless Dread (Part of Endless Thread, WBUR)

Southern Gothic (Brandon and Bryanne Schexnayder)

Legends from the Pacific (Kamuela Kaneshiro)

Jim Harold’s Campfire

I’ve tried to link websites in that list so you can get straight to the RSS link or podcatcher of your choice but some of them don’t have websites anymore or the publishers are defunct, in which case I linked to Apple pods.

Did you come across anything intriguing this spooky season? What are you listening to as the days get shorter and, well, wetter? Let me know if you found anything good and most importantly, if you have a story for next year’s “Is Bremerton Haunted?!” episode, get in touch!
